WHAT MINIMUM DISTANCE SHOULD BE KEPT BETWEEN ROOF WINDOWS?
We would always recommend consulting with your installer first to ensure the size selected is correct, and the products chosen are suitable for your project. Planning permission is not always required; however, the installation must meet the required building regulations.
If you are installing individual roof windows, you should aim to put two tiles in between, which is approx. 40-60 cm. Alternatively, you can buy a combi flashing. This allows you to install two side-by-side roof windows or on top of one another. The minimum distance for combination flashings side by side would be 18 mm with a twin flashing or 100 mm with standard combi flashing.
Please note, when roof windows are installed side by side and you also consider adding external blinds or shutters then please consult with your installer as this may not be possible when conducting this type of install.
If you are considering installing your roof windows side by side, combination flashing kits can only be purchased directly through our sales team by calling 01592 806 611.
