Electric and Solar Powered Blinds
There is a choice of operation when selecting a VELUX roof window blind. It can be chosen in either manually operated, electric or solar powered. Unfortunately, the Solstro brand is only available in manual operation.
This is ideal for windows that are perhaps out of reach, as the electric and solar options are delivered with a wall switch that controls the blinds remotely. It’s best to think where the blind will be situated and how often it will be used before deciding on the operation method.
The electric option can be easily connected to the VELUX INTEGRA® roof windows, as the blind connects to the same power supply as the window. If the window is manually operated then it is required to purchase a VELUX KUX 110 system, to create a power supply. Multiple blinds can be programmed into one wall switch for simultaneous operation. If necessary, the blind can also be raised and lowered manually with the control bar at the bottom of the blind.
VELUX solar powered blinds are compatible with manual and INTEGRA® roof windows. There is no wiring involved which creates a simpler install. The solar panel is already connected to the blind, which faces out the window. The solar-rechargeable battery can hold enough charge for up to 600 operations, even if there is no direct sunlight for charging.
