My Sash Won’t Stay Open. Is There Something Wrong?
The sash is only designed to stay open in a position that is slightly less than horizontal. If the roof window will not stay open at all, it may mean that the springs within the window have not been engaged during installation. This can be easily done by opening the window fully until a click noise is heard.
If you are opting for a VELUX Top Hung Roof Window and the roof pitch is between 15° - 54°, there is a need for special springs to be added to your order. These are ZZZ 164K and can be ordered through our Sales Team by calling 01592 806 611.
When installing a solar or electric blind on a window it may affect the resting position when the window is open since the motor and battery pack adds some weight to the top part of the window. This is considered normal behaviour.
If this does not resolve the problem, or your roof window requires new springs, please get in touch with us at info@theroofwindowstore.co.uk or 01592 806 611 for further assistance.
